1. Information you provide
We process account identifiers and sign-in information, including your email address, phone number where used, username, and information returned by a sign-in provider such as Google or Apple. We also process the profile details you provide, such as your nickname, avatar, gender, and birthday or age information. The information requested depends on the sign-in method and app version.
When you send messages or upload content, we process that content and its associated information. This can include text, photos, audio messages, timestamps, recipients, and delivery status. We also receive reports, feedback, support requests, and the contact information you include in them.
2. Device and service information
Our services process technical information such as IP addresses, device and operating system information, app version, session identifiers, service logs, and notification tokens. Where enabled, diagnostics and crash reporting help us understand failures and maintain the service. We do not need your device’s entire address book or unrestricted access to all of its files to provide the website.
3. How we use information
- Provide account access, profiles, messaging, media delivery, and features you choose to use.
- Send requested notifications and essential service or support communications.
- Maintain security, investigate reports, enforce our terms, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Diagnose problems, improve reliability, and meet applicable legal obligations.
- Record purchases, virtual-credit transactions, and access to paid features where those features are available.
4. Permissions and your choices
The app may request access to the camera for taking a photo, selected photos or media for uploads, the microphone for audio messages, and notifications for alerts. Granting a permission does not require you to use the associated feature. You can change permissions in your device settings; features that depend on a denied permission may be unavailable.
This policy does not describe location tracking, advertising identifiers, or facial age estimation as active Joyo features. If the service adds a materially different use of information, we will update the relevant disclosures.
5. Who receives information
Other users receive the profile information and content you choose to share with them. A recipient may save or share a message; consider what you send. Blocking another user does not erase content already received.
We use providers for hosting, storage, authentication, notifications, diagnostics, and, where offered, store purchases. These providers process the information needed for their functions. Current integrations include DigitalOcean and Google/Firebase; Apple and RevenueCat may process information when you use the relevant sign-in or purchase functions. Their own policies also apply to their services.
We may disclose information to comply with legal requests, protect people and the service, or complete a corporate transaction with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Payments
Store purchases are processed by the relevant app store or payment provider. Do not send card details to our support team. We receive transaction identifiers, purchase status, and related records needed to apply credits, investigate issues, and prevent duplicate or fraudulent transactions. We do not receive the full payment-card details entered into an app store.
7. Website cookies and external links
The public Joyo website does not require an account, advertising cookies, or a marketing tracker. Hosting providers may maintain security and access logs. App stores, sign-in providers, and other sites linked from our website operate under their own privacy policies. An email link opens your email application; a request reaches us only after you send it.
8. Storage, retention, and deletion
Information is processed on our infrastructure and by our service providers. The current Joyo hosting environment is in India; provider processing may also occur in other countries. We retain information needed to operate the service and fulfill security, dispute, transaction, or legal obligations.
The current account-deletion process disables the account, revokes its sessions, and removes active contact fields. It also retains an account archive and some associated records. It does not immediately erase every message, media object, backup, or transaction record. See our Data Deletion page for the request process. We review erasure requests and explain any applicable retention or verification requirements. Retention periods depend on the type of information and the obligations that apply.
9. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, a copy of your information, deletion, or restrictions on certain processing. You can edit supported profile fields in the app and control device permissions. Contact us to make a request or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify account ownership, and legal exceptions may apply. You may also contact the relevant data-protection authority.
10. Adults only and safety
Joyo Live is for people aged 18 and over. We do not permit children to register or use the service. If you believe a child is using Joyo or that content exploits a child, contact us and use available in-app reporting tools. We will investigate and take appropriate action.
11. Security and changes
We use access controls and other safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your password and sign-in codes private. We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice where required.
12. Contact
Contact Datagenie AI Technologies Private Limited at [email protected] for privacy questions or requests. Please identify Joyo Live and provide the minimum information needed to locate your account. Never include passwords, verification codes, or payment-card details.
